It is not new that the surge of online transaction has become the next norm amidst the pandemic. While this was good news that the continuity of the economy now relies as well on online transactions, scams and other malicious activity has also seen tremendous growth.
With the continuous effort to remind its users, we received a list on how you could protect your accounts online from a certain digital bank. Without further ado, please see the list below for improved chances of security for your accounts.
- DO NOT share your account password, MPIN, OTP, and debit card PIN with anyone, even to bank officials.
- REPORT to your banks if someone asks for your password, MPIN, OTP, and debit card PIN, and/or account information over the phone, via SMS or e-mail. Though not a total protection, early reporting could help you with your case should it ever arise.
- WATCH OUT for fake websites that claim to be your bank’s official website. Phishing websites are everywhere. Do not, as long as possible open links through the phone’s browser as you won’t be able to check its URL fully on those mobile devices.
- DO NOT share photos of your personal details, your card details, and other sensitive banking details online.
- ALWAYS check for official channels such as social media pages. It is better to search for the official channels and contact them via the messaging functions available on those areas instead of searching for them directly on messenger or other messaging platform.
