Link building is an essential part of SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Personally, I believe with the term a group I joined where they mostly say that CONTENT IS KING. True to it, there is no denying that a well-made content is very beneficial not only to the content creator but to the general audience as well. Getting back to the topic of link building, it is where your website would get proper and relevant attraction from the form of having your link shared and visited from another reputable source.
From this list, you’ll gain eight (8) known link building techniques you may want to consider to have your site ranked.
1. Guest Blogging
This is the form of reaching out to other website in your industry/niche and offer to write for them in exchange for a link back to your site. With some big websites, you may also benefit from this aside from the link building by having your write-up reviewed and proofread first before they would actually publish your content.
2. Broken Link Building
This is in the form of reviewing/checking other websites for broken links. Broken links are links that leads to a 404 or a non-existing web page. What you could do from here is when you find a broken links, you could offer a replacement for that broken link to a link of similar content to your website.
3. Skyscraper Technique
Now this is something new personally to myself as well. This is where you would create a better version of a popular topic/content. Just as we’ve mentioned earlier, CONTENT IS STILL KING and a better version of a poorly made one is still better. Once you’ve done creating a better version of a popular content you could reach out to other websites to link to your content instead of the previous one they have.
4. Directory Submissions
This is something that was very popular back when I started blogging. Despite googling things became the norm, there are still websites that offer directory listings. If you’ve reached the phonebook age, it is simply just like that. Most of them needs requires you to have an RSS Feed so at least be prepared for that.
5. Social Media Promotion
Now who among you have no social media? If you’re into SEO, I’m pretty sure you know how much of an impact social media presence could give your site. Especially those short videos right now could gather more traffic than you could ever imagine!
6. Resource page link building
This one is probably similar to the one we have at number three (3). This requires you to reach out to similar sites in your industry/niche and ask if they’d be willing to link to your website. Links coming from similar industry/niche gives off better reference than those that are not.
7. Influencer Marketing
This one probably is the most common especially when vlogging came to fruition. Almost everyone is collaborating with other influencers simply to promote their channels and/or website which will eventually give of backlinks.
8. Press release
If you have anything that you could offer to other people, (e.g. product, service, etc.) you could write and distribute press releases about that in order to gain more backlinks from sites within your niche.

Please do note that quality is better than quantity in these link building techniques so make sure that what you’re giving off won’t put you and the ones you’re collaborating with to shame. High-quality backlinks are better than low-quality ones to tap new audiences!
